Renowned for his expertise in gardening, broadcasting, and writing, Alan Titchmarsh is also a lifelong advocate for animals, particularly dogs. His deep affection for dogs shines through in his consistent efforts to promote their well-being and advocate for responsible pet ownership. As a dedicated pet owner himself, Alan deeply understands the unique bond between humans and their canine companions.
Mr. Titchmarsh first became aware of the important work of the ADAA last year after filming Underdog to Superdog (C5, MGM Alternative) with trustee Becki Gude. Inspired by this experience, he has proudly taken on the role of Patron for the Assistance Dog Assessment Association (ADAA) in 2024.
In this new capacity, Alan's commitment to dogs takes on added significance as he lends his support to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through the training of their own assistance dogs. With his genuine empathy and steadfast dedication, Alan continues to inspire audiences and make a positive impact in both the gardening world and animal welfare.

Ted, the much-loved Patterdale Terrier, was best known for his heartwarming appearances alongside Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse on the BBC's Gone Fishing. Through his TV career and public life, Ted's gentle nature, loyalty and unmistakable character captured the hearts of people across the country.
In 2024, Ted became the Ambassadog for ADAA and we were incredibly proud to have him represent our charity. He helped shine a light on the special bond between dogs and their handlers and became a wonderful ambassador for owner-trained assistance dogs throughout the UK.
Ted supported ADAA's fundraising efforts, including joining us on one of our charity dog walks and Doggy Sports Days. The ADAA was also a major beneficiary of the charity fund raised in his honour.
While Ted is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through the joy he brought to so many people and the support he gave to our community. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by everyone at ADAA.
